7 Reasons to Sell Junk Cars in Jonesboro GA

Why sell your junk car in Jonesboro, GA? Well, cars do have an expiration date.

Regardless of how you take care of your automobile, your car will conk out on you and one way or another. Over time, you may opt to have it repaired, change its parts, or keep its engine in tiptop shape.

But inevitably, those expenses will pile up and you will realize are spending more on repairs and tune-ups than the overall value of your car.

If you are a car owner who knows that your car needs to go but just can’t let go because of emotional attachment or financial stresses, there are still several compelling reasons why you might still want to sell your car as junk in Jonesboro, rather than continuing to burden yourself with its presence.
  1. You are shelling more money for its repairs than it is original worth.
  2. You need space in your driveway or garage and your decrepit excuse for a car is eating up a lot of room.
  3. Your Jonesboro neighbors are so bothered that they come up to you and tell you your old junk car is blight to the community and you need to do something about it.
  4. You require quick cash and you've got nothing left to pawn or sell.
  5. It can potentially lead to a tax write off.
  6. You care more for the environment and you want to do your part as a productive and caring member to the community. Old cars rotting away in your garage and driveway can greatly impact the environment and careless disposal can lead to serious damages such as air and water pollution.
  7. You need a new car but do not have the proceeds to buy one.

Before you sell your junk car, make sure your deal with legitimate firms that offer the best car removal services as well as the highest rate for your old roadster.

There are so many junk car removal services in Jonesboro and the surrounding metro Atlanta area, and if you decide to finally say goodbye and sell your junk car, trust the experts at More Cash For Junk Cars Atlanta to give you top dollar!

The Most Popular Parts People Buy from Junk Yards

Aside from automotive recycling facilities, junk cars also have the potential to find second lives in local junk yards where mechanics and Do-It-Yourselfers congregate to harvest useful parts to repair other automobiles.

By harvesting these spare parts from junk cars it helps repair costs down while extending the lives of other cars that still have a future on the north Georgia roads.

With this in mind, here are some of the most popular auto parts that salvagers take from junk cars in order to repair others.

Superchargers

Many automobile scavengers are always on the lookout for high-speed police cars that have seen their share of use and abuse. Superchargers from iconic and fast police cars such as the Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor sell like pancakes in junk yards. You might also stumble on superchargers of sedans that served as undercover cars.

Engine Parts & Auto Glass

Engine cylinders are also hot sellers in junk yards. Brand new cylinders, as well as other engine parts, come with an expensive price tag when bought from auto shops. Cylinders found in salvage yards can cost a fraction of the auto repair shop's markup price. Other salvage parts from junk yards that are best sellers from junk cars include lights, auto glass, body panels, and suspension pieces.

Classic Car Parts

Junk yard treasure hunters like to scour the terrain for classic cars and their parts. You never know what you'll come across. One notable historical junk yard find is the 1926 Vauxhall 30-98 Race Car, which was headed to scrap yard as junk before it was identified and its legacy unearthed. The classic British roadster was brought to the United States by its owner. After the owner died, the car was never heard of again until more than four decades later, when it was discovered and full restored to its former glory, making the new owner a mint afterward.

Tools of the Harvesting Trade

When you decide to go to the junk yard and scavenger for used car parts, there are certain things and items you'll need to take along with you if you come across the part you're looking for.

First, you need to have your own harvesting tools like screwdrivers, hacksaw, hammer, pliers, wrenches, and gloves. Most of the time, you have to pry and extract salvage cars to see if you can find anything of use. Sunscreen is also an imperative to keep you protected from the sun while you are hunting for parts.

When you find and extract the parts you are looking for, always make sure that you tell the clerk the model of the car as well as its manufacturer. This will help the clerk provide you with a fair price and you'll be well on your way to saving money by salvaging used car parts.

Junk Car Selling Tips for Consumers

You’ve been nursing that old car for years now, and you know it’s lasted you a lot longer than you ever could have imagined. But now, no matter how much you want to hold on to that old junker in lieu of buying a new car, you know you can’t sink one more dime into having it repaired, and now push has come to shove.

Despite your apprehensions in upgrading your car, because who knows what the old one is worth on trade, the good news is you can sell that old junk car for cash to go toward a down payment for your new vehicle.

Cash for Junk Cars companies like More Cash For Junk Cars Atlanta pay people cash everyday in exchange for their unwanted autos. All the owners of these cars need to do is reach out to a junk car buyer and tell them about their vehicle, and they’ll get a quotation for what they’ll pay to buy it just like that.

With all the junk car removal companies out there today, you will certainly have no difficulty in getting rid of your old car. But before you scavenge the Internet or scour the streets in search of a car removal company, you might want to read the following tips to make sure you are getting the best deal for your dilapidated roadster.

  1. Make sure you have the necessary paperwork: Legitimate junk car buying businesses like us require proper proof of ownership before they can buy your junk car. Having the necessary title documents for cars model 2000 or newer is required to sell a junk car in Georgia. If your car is older than that, a valid state vehicle registration would suffice.
  2. Never settle for the first junk car company you talk to: As with any purchase you’d ever make, you should do your research before selling your car to a junk car removal company. Shop your car around and see what it is worth. Call at least three companies and see which one gives you the best price. At More Cash For Junk Cars Atlanta, we guarantee to offer our customers the best market price possible in exchange for their vehicle.
  3. Not all car removal companies offer free towing: So make sure you know whether or not you’re required to drive your unwanted car to their location. If you do, you should make sure that you are getting a higher pay out. If the junk car remover comes to you, make sure they’re not charging you an unnecessarily high price to haul your car away. More Cash For Junk Cars Atlanta doesn’t charge our customers to tow away their vehicle.

Innovative Uses for Recycled Cars

As you've probably heard before, the junk cars industry has been working harder and harder to protect our environment by offering eco-friendly junk car removal services.

The truth is, even though your car might not be worth anything to you and you deem it as "junk," what the car is made of actually holds great value for automotive recycling services and junk car buyers.

The aluminum and steel that makes up the body of the car can be easily recycled into other products via the industry's car shredding process. Upwards to 75% of the junk car can be recycled in this manner. Other materials might found in the car such as plastics, fabrics, rubbers, leather, etc., could find themselves in landfills, or in junk yards where people can pick through them in order to keep their own vehicles entact.

In order to keep these parts out of landfills, some people have gotten creative, coming up with innovative ways to reuse these old car parts and materials. Yes, that's right, you too can aid in the junk car recycling process.

Some of the innovative ways people have reused these parts are by harvesting certain parts from the cars to create one-of-a-kind furnishings such as coffee tables, shelves, sofas, etc.

Art is also a popular happy ending for old junk car parts that avoided landfills. This should call out to you Cabbagetown/East Atlanta folks. Some folks have built sculptures, fashioned custom light fixtures and lamps, as well as welded together several pieces of an old automobile that looked good and hung it on their wall.

So if you've got a junk car that you're looking to sell, feel free to harvest some of the no-so-valuable parts to come up with some unique ways to use these old parts so they avoid our local landfills.

This Car is on Fire!

No, it's not the newest hit from Alicia Keys, this car was literally on FIRE!

As you know, More Cash For Junk Cars Atlanta is one of the leaders in junk car removal services in metro Atlanta and throughout north Georgia. From time to time, we come across some pretty incredible stories involving our customers and their cars.

In the video below, we interview the owner of a junk car in Stone Mountain, Georgia. As you watch you'll hear her story of how smoke started billowing through the air vents as the car proceeded to catch fire.

The fire was far too hot for them to open the hood in an effort to extinguish the flames with water. Everything under the hood was destroyed. All of the plastic pieces of the motor melted and left this unfortunate Dodge Caravan owner with a certain junk car on her hands.

Even though the car was destroyed, she wasn't quite ready to get rid of it. Lucky for her, even though the car was a total loss, she was able to get some cash for it that our we buy junk cars company was able to offer her.

If you've got a car you'd like to get rid of, no matter what the condition, pick up the phone right now and give us a call at (404) 468-4589, and we'll be happy to pay you cash to take it away.

Expensive Repairs that Lead People to Sell Junk Cars

As we all know, cars need typically need continual maintenance and upkeep to keep them running efficiently and effectively.

Over time, cars start to deteriorate and eventually need major repairs or upgrades to keep them running efficiently - and sometimes just to keep them on the road.

Aside from general body damage from car accidents that need to be repaired, some repairs or upgrades are just too much to bare for some vehicle owners, leading them to seek out junk car buying companies who pay cash for junk cars, rather than pay for the costly repair.

Replacing Turbochargers on Your Vehicle

Turbo chargers, as the term suggests, provide more power to your engine by generating bigger explosions in the cylinders. More power equates to higher engine outputs and more speed. However, turbo chargers make the engine and its systems susceptible to damage and intense heat.

Car expert Art Jacobsen says that engines equipped with turbo chargers need just the right amount of oil to keep the engine from heating up. However, too little and too much oil can spell huge damage to the overall engine structure and significantly hamper the performance of your car.

If you need to replace your car's turbochargers or simply repair them, don't be surprised if you need to spend anywhere from $700 to $3000 depending on the extent of the work involved.

Replacing Catalytic Converter

Catalytic converters reduce the toxic elements from your car’s exhaust emissions, which is good for the environment. However, replacing them can cost you a lot of money, since most catalytic converters are made of the earth’s most rare metals - platinum, palladium and rhodium.

In the state of Georgia, your vehicle will not pass an annual emissions test without the catalytic converter and replacement costs can get up to nearly $3000. The catalytic converter is also one of the primary pieces that are of value to companies who buy junk cars.

Replacing Hybrid Batteries

While the automobile industry is slowly shifting to environmentally-friendlier vehicles, the whole sector is not yet keen to go green. Hybrid batteries may sound good on the wallet with their correlation to the gas pump, but if something goes wrong, repairs and replacement can cost you a pretty penny.

Jacobsen says that there are very few mechanics across United States who are familiar with hybrid batteries and engines. On top of that, hybrid batteries and replacement parts are still in short supply. Installation/replacement costs: can start around $2700 depending on the model of your hybrid vehicle.

Replacing hybrid inverter assembly

When you're purchasing a hybrid automobile, it's important to note that not all car repair shops offer automotive services for hybrid automobiles. This is one of the reasons why replacing a hybrid’s inverter assembly can be so costly. Inverters allow cars to switch from direct current to alternating current. However, if and when the inverters fail, costs can shoot to as high as $4,000 to $7,400.

Cylinder replacements

A common problem or every car owner out there are burned out cylinders. Although faulty cylinders are familiar for most car owners and car mechanics, it can be very costly if the damage is extensive. Parts are pricey. But it is the labor takes a huge chunk out of your wallet.

Mechanics have to dismantle the whole engine in order to do the repair. Sometimes, the pay is too high that many automobile owners decide to junk the vehicle altogether and get a new one instead. Depending on your location, repair costs can get up to $4000.

If you're not interested in making these type of pricy repairs on your car, consider selling your junk car to a junk car buyer in your area.
